I can't remember the last time I waited until December for the Christmas season to arrive. Once Sinterklaas ended on December 5th, Christmas finally arrived in Groningen and I couldn't be happier about it. On the 6th, store windows became Christmas-ified and a Christmas tree made of bikes went up in the Vis Markt. On the 7th, a huge Christmas tree went up in the Grote Mark. Not long after that, a ferris wheel went up in the Grote Markt and an ice skating rink went up behind City Hall. I had to wait longer than I wanted, but the city is finally in the Christmas spirit.
